There are two choices needed that will impact how you use Wovex.
1. How you use Role permissions for users. To restricts them to specific functions e.g. block access to Manage Actuals/ Dashboard edits.
2. How to use Models. This is covered here.
You can use Models in different ways; three common scenarios are:
Option A: Single Model with all information together.
When you want to manage the benefits for the portfolio together.
There is no sensitive data – if you have access to the Model, then you can see it all*.
It’s really important to re-use Measures and slice/dice the portfolios data in many different ways.
Option B: Single Model, with extra secret ones.
When you want to manage the benefits for the portfolio together, but some projects you want to exclude and only give selected access to.
There is some sensitive data, and this is kept separate. May want to include some in the Portfolio model e.g. by replicating some Measures.
It’s really important to have a single portfolio but not for everything.
Option C: Separate Models for each project/ programme etc.
Just selected Measures/Benefits need to be reported on with a Portfolio Model view.
The focus here is on the restriction of access of people to individual projects data.
Standard Measures across is less important.
All data is sensitive and keep separate. May want to include some in the Portfolio model e.g. by formulas to copy data automatically to the portfolio Model
